Is membership for you?

 

Who is it for

 

The ARA is there to support re-enactors to enjoy their hobby whether you are:

  • a veteran re-enactor
  • a member of a well established or long running re-enactment group
  • new to re-enacting or 
  • are doing reenacting with a number of different groups

Support


The ARA offers members, event organisers and the public, advice and guidance on such things as performance and display safety and the reasonable presentation of historical accuracy in recreational re-enactment activities.

 

Public liability protection

 

The ARA provides services such as public liability insurance for a wide range of re-enactment activities to help support independent groups and individuals to pursue their unique re-enactment interests in the manner that best suits each individual and group.

 

Representation

The ARA also acts to represent members’ interests in areas such as legislation that affects re-enactment activities.

The ARA has a web application to self manage your ARA membership that will work on all internet connected devices with a browser.

For New & Existing ARA Members:

It is a new streamlined and mostly automated process that should allow you to join up or renew your membership quickly.
If you choose manual payment options then, we will aim to have your Membership Application or Renewal processed within 14 days.

 

Payments

 

Payments and payment info is handled directly inside the membership portal, and yes payments can still be made by cheque, EFT and PayPal.

ORDINARY MEMBERSHIPS : $20 new members or $15 for renewals for each Calendar Year. Membership is from 1st January to 31st December.


GUEST MEMBERSHIPS: $15 per event during each Calendar year.

Guest Memberships are administered by the event host at specified events only.

If you wish to attend an ARA backed event as an ARA GUEST Member, you can complete the GUEST form and make payment at the registration desk at the event. Your event hosts will take care of the rest.


PUBLIC LIABILiTY INSURANCE: Public Liability Insurance is included in both Guest and Ordinary Memberships.

 

PERSONAL INJURY COVER (PIC): Personal injury cover is an optional inclusion for $30 it covers you and your costs to recover from an injury that occured during re-enactment.

 

EQUINE ACTIVITIES PUBLIC LIABILITY COVER: Is an optional inclusion ($50) to cover you (as the person responsible for controlling a horse involved in reenactment activities) against damage caused by your horse to a member of the public or damage to property caused by your horse during your horse's involvement in a re-enactment activity.

 

 

PAYING YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND INSURANCE FEES:

 

You should make paypal payments directly via Paypal from within the membership portal. You may also pay via bank deposit but you may experience delays in your application being approved.
